The Onaway School Family Resource Center (FRC) was founded by Governor Jennifer Granholm in 2004. Onaway FRC members include: Tathy Arkwood - Before /After School - ISS Coordinator Denise Penn - Family Prevention Worker Deb Russ - School Success Worker Mindy Horn - Elementary Principal/Special Ed Coordinator Michael Franklin - Guidance Counselor Marty Mix - Secondary Principal Jane Kroll - Dept. of Human Services Representative To Be Filled - Title One Director Lynette Depeter - COP ESD Social Worker Rod Fullerton - Intrim Superintendent
The FRC serves two main functions. First, FRC staff meet weekly to discuss students and families in crisis. They then problem solve collaboratively in an attempt to help the students and/or family in need. This could include coordination of services, food, clothing, shelter, emotional support, etc. The other main function of the FRC is to develop programming designed to address a school/community need. |
